Pooled standing water being pumped out of a ground-floor room

What this job involves

Water that has stopped moving has started soaking. Every hour it sits, it climbs further up the drywall and further into the subfloor, and the cost of the job goes up with it. Removing the pool is the part that has to happen today.

What we are usually called out to

  • Pooled water across ground-floor rooms
  • Flooded garages, warehouses and loading docks
  • Water in elevator pits and mechanical rooms
  • Standing water on flat and low-slope roofs
  • Pooling under raised floors in server and plant rooms
  • Retail and restaurant floors flooded overnight

Why speed matters here

Every hour the water stays, it moves further into material that cannot be dried in place. Past roughly 48 hours mold begins to colonize damp organic material, and the work changes from drying to remediation — which costs considerably more and takes longer. Calling at 2am genuinely produces a better outcome than calling at 9am.

How we handle it

The same four stages every time, in this order.

  1. Assess depth, spread and category

We measure how deep the water is, how far it has spread beyond what is visible, and how clean it is before choosing equipment.

  2. Pump and extract to the floor

Pumps clear the depth, then extraction units take the remaining surface water down to a damp floor rather than a wet one.

  3. Open up the wet cavities

Baseboard and the lower wall cavity are opened where readings show water has wicked up, so the inside of the wall can dry rather than rot.

  4. Dry and monitor

Equipment is placed to the measured load and checked daily. You get the readings, not just an assurance that it is drying.

What we bring

The equipment that arrives is matched to what the readings show, not to a standard van load.

  • Submersible, trash and high-volume pumps
  • Truck-mounted and portable extraction
  • Thermal imaging and moisture mapping
  • Commercial-capacity dehumidifiers
  • High-velocity air movers
  • Daily monitoring and documentation
