What this job involves

A burst supply line can put several hundred gallons into a room before anyone finds the shut-off. Extraction is the first thing that has to happen, and the speed of it decides how much of the floor, the drywall and the contents survive.

What we are usually called out to

  • Burst or frozen supply lines
  • Failed water heaters and washing machine hoses
  • Overflowing tubs, sinks and toilets
  • Appliance leaks under cabinets and behind walls
  • Fire-sprinkler discharge
  • Roof and window leaks during storms

Why speed matters here

Every hour the water stays, it moves further into material that cannot be dried in place. Past roughly 48 hours mold begins to colonize damp organic material, and the work changes from drying to remediation — which costs considerably more and takes longer. Calling at 2am genuinely produces a better outcome than calling at 9am.

How we handle it

The same four stages every time, in this order.

  1. Stop the water

We locate and close the source before anything else. If the shut-off has failed we cap the line.

  2. Measure before we move anything

Moisture meters and thermal imaging map how far the water has traveled, including under flooring and inside wall cavities where it is not visible.

  3. Extract standing water

Truck-mounted units pull the bulk volume. Portable extractors reach upper floors and tight spaces where the hose cannot.

  4. Dry the structure

Air movers and dehumidifiers are placed to the measured moisture load, then monitored daily until readings return to the dry standard for your building.

What we bring

The equipment that arrives is matched to what the readings show, not to a standard van load.

  • Truck-mounted extraction units
  • Portable and back-pack extractors
  • Penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters
  • Thermal imaging cameras
  • Low-grain refrigerant dehumidifiers
  • Axial and centrifugal air movers
